INTRODUCTION
One of the greatest deceptions ever introduced into modern Christianity is the phrase, “We are not under the law.”
That statement, by itself, is incomplete, misleading, and often weaponized against the very Word of Elohim.
Millions have been taught that grace somehow liberated them from Yahuah’s authority.
Millions have been taught that faith exempted them from obedience.
Millions have been taught that the law was temporary, burdensome, inferior, or obsolete.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
The problem is not Scripture.
The problem is definitions.
The problem is context.
The problem is removing Paul from Torah, disconnecting Messiah from Moses, and separating grace from covenant.
The reality is simple.
You are under the law.
You always have been.
You always will be.
You cannot escape the authority of the Creator.
The question is not whether you are under the law.
The question is: In what capacity are you under it?
Are you under it as a rebel?
Or are you under it as a redeemed covenant citizen?

THE KINGDOM PRINCIPLE
The Bible is not primarily a religious book.
It is a Kingdom book.
The Gospel is not primarily a church message.
It is the Gospel of the Kingdom.
Everything begins with a King.
Every kingdom has:
• A King
• Authority
• Laws
• Citizens
• Boundaries
• Government
• Expectations
• Rewards
• Consequences
Remove the law from a kingdom and you no longer have a kingdom.
You have anarchy.
If Yahuah is King, then His laws still exist.
Psalm 103:19 says:
“Yahuah has established His throne in the heavens, and His kingdom rules over all.”
His government never ceased.
His authority never ended.
His laws never expired.
—
YOU CANNOT OPT OUT OF THE KING’S AUTHORITY
This is the greatest misconception.
People think belief determines reality.
It doesn’t.
Your belief does not determine truth.
You may reject gravity.
Gravity still exists.
You may reject citizenship.
Government still exists.
You may reject Yahuah.
His authority still exists.
Every human being is under the authority of the King.
Believers.
Unbelievers.
Atheists.
Pagans.
Everyone.
Romans 14:11 says:
“Every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to Elohim.”
There are no independent kingdoms.
There is only one King.
—
THE LAW NEVER CHANGED
Malachi 3:6:
“For I am Yahuah, I do not change.”
Psalm 119:142:
“Your Torah is truth.”
Psalm 119:160:
“All Your righteous judgments endure forever.”
If truth is eternal…
If righteousness is eternal…
If Yahuah is eternal…
Then His standards do not expire.
Murder didn’t become righteous.
Adultery didn’t become righteous.
Idolatry didn’t become righteous.
Covetousness didn’t become righteous.
The King did not suddenly change His mind.
—
THE LAW IS NOT THE PROBLEM
The people were the problem.
Jeremiah 31:31-33 never says:
“I will abolish My Torah.”
It says:
“I will put My Torah within them and write it on their hearts.”
The Renewed Covenant is not a new religion.
It is not a replacement covenant.
It is covenant restoration.
The problem was never Torah.
The problem was sinful hearts.
—
WHAT DOES “NOT UNDER THE LAW” ACTUALLY MEAN?
Romans 6:14 says:
“You are not under law but under grace.”
Paul is not abolishing Torah.
He is describing legal standing.
There are two positions.
Under condemnation.
Under grace.
The phrase “under law” means being under the penalty, curse, and condemnation because of your sin.
What is sin?
1 John 3:4:
“Sin is transgression of Torah.”
If Torah is abolished, sin cannot be defined.
Paul destroys the lawless interpretation in the very next verse.
Romans 6:15:
“Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!”
Grace is not permission to continue sinning.
Grace is deliverance from condemnation.
—
THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN JURISDICTION AND CONDEMNATION
This may be the most important distinction.
Every citizen is under jurisdiction.
Not every citizen is under condemnation.
If you obey the law, you are still under it.
You are simply not condemned by it.
A citizen driving the speed limit is still under the law.
A citizen breaking the speed limit is also under the law.
One walks in obedience.
The other faces judgment.
Same law.
Different standing.
Grace changes your standing.
Grace does not abolish the law.
—
THE KINSMAN-REDEEMER
Adam sold humanity into slavery through rebellion.
Sin entered.
Death entered.
The curse entered.
Yahusha came as the Kinsman-Redeemer.
He purchased us back.
Not so we could become autonomous.
Not so we could become independent.
Not so we could become lawless.
He restored us back to covenant relationship.
He restored us back under rightful Kingdom authority.
He restored us to walk with the King.
—
REDEMPTION ALWAYS PRECEDES INSTRUCTION
Look at Israel.
Did Yahuah give Torah first?
No.
He redeemed them from Egypt first.
Then He gave them instructions.
The pattern never changes.
Repentance.
Redemption.
Restoration.
Obedience.
Modern Christianity has reversed the order.
It teaches:
Believe.
Ignore the commandments.
Go to heaven.
That is not the Gospel of the Kingdom.
—
GRACE IS NOT ANARCHY
Grace is not the absence of law.
Grace is not freedom from obedience.
Grace is not divine permission to rebel.
Titus 2:11-12 says grace teaches us to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts and to live righteously.
Grace trains holiness.
Grace empowers obedience.
Grace restores relationship.
Grace never authorizes rebellion.
—
THE SPIRIT DOES NOT LEAD PEOPLE AWAY FROM TORAH
Ezekiel 36:26-27 says Yahuah gives us His Spirit and causes us to walk in His statutes.
Romans 8:7 says:
“The carnal mind is hostile toward Elohim, for it does not submit itself to the law of Elohim.”
Read that again.
The flesh rebels.
The Spirit obeys.
The evidence of spiritual maturity is not lawlessness.
It is increasing alignment with the King.
—
STOP PITTING PAUL AGAINST YAHUSHA
Yahusha said:
“Do not think that I came to abolish the Torah or the Prophets.” (Matthew 5:17)
Paul said:
“Do we then nullify the Torah through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the Torah.” (Romans 3:31)
Both agree.
The contradiction exists only inside modern theology.
—
THE TWO TYPES OF PEOPLE UNDER THE LAW
There are only two.
The rebel.
The redeemed.
The rebel is under condemnation.
The redeemed are under grace.
The rebel walks according to the flesh.
The redeemed walk according to the Spirit.
The rebel resists the King.
The redeemed submit to the King.
Both remain under His authority.
Only one walks in covenant.
—
FINAL THOUGHT
You do not escape the King’s authority by claiming grace.
You do not escape the King’s authority by quoting Paul.
You do not escape the King’s authority by joining a denomination.
You do not escape the King’s authority by redefining Scripture.
No creature escapes the Creator.
No citizen escapes the King.
No servant escapes the Master.
No child escapes the Father.
You are under the law.
The only question is this:
Are you under it as a rebel facing condemnation…
Or are you under it as a redeemed citizen walking in covenant faithfulness?
One path leads to death.
One path leads to life.
Choose wisely.
