๐Ÿ”ฅ Introduction

What exactly was โ€œnailed to the crossโ€ in Colossians 2:14? Many pastors and theologians confidently teach that the Torah itself was abolished at Calvary. But such claims are not only unscripturalโ€”they are spiritually dangerous. The Torah, Yahuahโ€™s eternal covenant standard, was never the problem. Our sin was. The penalty of our rebellionโ€”our guilt, our shame, and the legal consequences of our disobedienceโ€”was what Yahusha bore on the tree. Thatโ€™s what He nailed. Not the Torah. Not Yahuahโ€™s commands. Not righteousness.

We live in a time where lawlessness is celebrated, where grace is used as a license to sin, and where obedience is labeled bondage. This teaching refutes those lies with covenant truth. Yahusha did not come to destroy the Law or free us from obedience. He came to fulfill itโ€”to live it perfectly, to teach it fully, and to empower us by His Spirit to walk in it.

The Gospel is not that the Law is dead. Itโ€™s that the guilty record against us has been destroyedโ€”so we can now walk righteously, restored to covenant. This is the message the remnant must proclaim.

๐Ÿ“š Teaching

  1. What Was Nailed to the Cross? Not the Torah, But the Record of Debt
    ๐Ÿ“– Colossians 2:14
Greek Word: Cheirographon โ€” a handwritten record of debt
    Paleo-Hebrew Word Picture: Resh (๐ค“), Kaf (๐คŠ), Tav (๐ค•) โ€” โ€œThe hand marks the head with authority.โ€

Yahusha nailed our guilty charges to the stake, not the Torah itself. The Torah defines righteousness. It is our rebellion against it that produced the debt. Yahusha paid that debt, but the standard still stands.

  1. Torah’s Legal Demands Were Satisfied, Not Abolished
    ๐Ÿ“– Devariym (Deuteronomy) 27:26
    Hebrew Word: ืขึธื•ึนืŸ (โ€˜avon) โ€” iniquity, guilt
    Paleo-Hebrew Word Picture: Ayin (๐ค), Vav (๐ค…), Nun (๐ค) โ€” โ€œSee the nail in the seed.โ€

Torah outlines both blessings and curses. Yahusha fulfilled the just punishment of the Law, bearing our curse so we could live by it in freedomโ€”not reject it.

  1. Torahโ€™s Purpose: A Tutor, A Mirror, A Covenant Path
    ๐Ÿ“– Galatians 3:24; Romans 3:20; 7:12
  • Torah reveals sin (Romans 3:20)
  • It leads us to Messiah (Galatians 3:24)
  • It is holy, righteous, and good (Romans 7:12)

It was never given to save us, but to define righteousness and show our need for a Savior.

  1. Yahusha Fulfilled, Not Removed, the Torah
    ๐Ÿ“– MattithYahu (Matthew) 5:17โ€“18
Hebrew Word: ืžึธืœึตื (male) โ€” to complete, fulfill
    Paleo-Hebrew Word Picture: Mem (๐คŒ), Lamed (๐ค‹), Aleph (๐ค€) โ€” โ€œWater guides the strong leader to completion.โ€

Yahusha did not remove one jot or tittle. He fulfilled the Torah in righteous living and prophetic purpose. But He also filled it to capacity by bringing deeper understanding:

  • โ€œYou have heardโ€ฆ but I say to youโ€ฆโ€ (MattithYahu 5:21โ€“48)
  • He intensified the moral demands (lust = adultery, hate = murder)
  • He taught obedience not just outwardly, but inwardly and fully

He expanded and clarified the Torahโ€™s meaningโ€”not abolished it.

  1. Yahusha Is the Goal of the Torah, Not the End of It
๐Ÿ“– Romans 10:4 โ€” โ€œFor Christ is the end of the lawโ€ฆโ€ (KJV)
Greek Word: Telos โ€” G5056 โ€” goal, purpose, aim, fulfillment

The word telos was mistranslated in many versions as โ€œend,โ€ implying termination. But it actually means the intended goal or purpose of something. Yahusha is the GOAL of Torah, the one it always pointed to.

  • The Torah leads us to Messiah (Galatians 3:24)
  • He embodies its purpose and completes its prophetic role
  • The Torah is not ended in Himโ€”it is fully realized in Him
  1. The Spirit Empowers Us to Obey Torah Righteously
    ๐Ÿ“– Romans 8:1โ€“4; Galatians 5:18
Hebrew Word: ืจึธื—ึทื (racham) โ€” mercy, compassion
    Paleo-Hebrew Word Picture: Resh (๐ค“), Chet (๐ค‡), Mem (๐คŒ) โ€” โ€œThe head surrounded by flowing compassion.โ€

We are not free from the Law. We are free from the condemnation the Law brings when broken. The Spirit writes the Torah on our hearts and gives us power to walk it out.

๐Ÿ”ฅ Prophetic Insight

  • The Torah is not the problemโ€”sin is
  • Yahusha paid the debt, not the standard
  • The remnant walks in obedience through the Spirit
  • The false doctrine of lawlessness will be exposed

๐Ÿ“œ Torah/Prophets Connection

  • ๐Ÿ“– Wayyiqra (Leviticus) 5:17 โ€” Unintentional sin requires atonement
  • ๐Ÿ“– Devariym (Deuteronomy) 27:26 โ€” Cursed is everyone who does not do the Law
  • ๐Ÿ“– YeshaYahu (Isaiah) 53:5โ€“6 โ€” He was pierced for our transgressions
  • ๐Ÿ“– Tehillim (Psalms) 19:7 โ€” The Torah is perfect, converting the soul

๐Ÿ“ฃ Prophetic Application

โžค Application for Us Today:

  • Return to Torah as our standard
  • Understand Yahusha fulfilled it, not abolished it
  • Recognize guilt was nailed to the cross, not righteousness
  • Walk in Spirit-empowered obedience

๐Ÿ”” Final Prophetic Charge

Torah is not bondage. Sin is. Yahusha’s death removed our condemnation so we could live by His Wordโ€”not reject it. The record of debt is canceled, but the covenant stands firm. Stand in it.

The cry has gone out. Now answer.
