Unveiling the Greatest Deception part IX. Historical References Proving the Suppression of the Hebrew Names
(A collection of ancient sources, church writings, and early translations that demonstrate the intentional suppression of Yahushaโs Name.)
The removal of Yahushaโs true Hebrew Name (ืืืืฉืข) and the replacement with Greco-Roman substitutes was not an accidentโit was a systematic effort carried out by religious and political leaders to erase Hebrew identity from the faith. The evidence of this suppression can be found in ancient historical documents, early church writings, and biblical manuscripts that show deliberate name corruption.
This section will provide proof from historical sources that the Hebrew Names were suppressed, replaced, and hidden over time.

1. Early Hebrew Writings Confirm the Use of Yahushaโs Name
Dead Sea Scrolls (200 BCE โ 100 CE)
โข Among the oldest biblical manuscripts ever discovered, the Dead Sea Scrolls include Hebrew references to the Tetragrammaton (ืืืื, Yahuah) and the original Name Yahusha (ืืืืฉืข).
โข These documents prove that the earliest believers used the sacred Hebrew Names.
โข The Masoretes (6th-10th century CE) later corrupted these texts by altering vowel markings to change pronunciations.
Josephus (37โ100 CE), Antiquities of the Jews
โข Josephus, a first-century Hebrew historian, wrote about the Hebrew pronunciation of divine names.
โข In “Antiquities of the Jews,” he references the sacred Name ืืืื (Yahuah), showing that it was widely used before later suppressions.
The historical record confirms that Hebrew names were used in the early centuriesโbut were later erased.
2. Early Greek Translations Removed the Name of Yahuah and Yahusha
The Greek Septuagint (LXX) and Later Corruptions
โข The Septuagint (LXX), a Greek translation of Hebrew Scriptures (3rd century BCE), originally contained Yahuahโs Name in Paleo-Hebrew letters.
โข However, later versions of the LXX replaced ืืืื (Yahuah) with “Kyrios” (ฮฯฯฮนฮฟฯ, meaning “Lord”).
โข This set the stage for later Christian translators to remove the Name entirely in favor of generic titles.
This deliberate erasure is why modern Bibles use “LORD” instead of Yahuah (ืืืื).
Jeremiah 23:26-27 โ “How long shall it be in the heart of the prophets who prophesy falsehood? โฆ Who try to make My people forget My Name by their dreams which they tell each other, as their fathers forgot My Name for Baโal.”
Scripture warns about false teachers erasing Yahuahโs Nameโand history proves it happened!
3. The Roman Catholic Churchโs Role in Suppressing the Hebrew Names
The Council of Laodicea (363โ364 AD)
โข This church council declared that believers should no longer observe the biblical Sabbath or Hebrew traditions.
โข The use of the Hebrew Names was discouraged in favor of Latin and Greek names.
The Council of Nicaea (325 AD)
โข Emperor Constantineโs Council of Nicaea enforced Greek and Latin names, replacing Yahushaโs Name with Iฤsous (แผธฮทฯฮฟแฟฆฯ).
โข The Hebrew roots of the faith were outlawed, and the Roman Church fully embraced pagan influences.
From this point onward, the Name Yahusha (ืืืืฉืข) was actively replaced with “Jesus.”
Zephaniah 3:9 โ “For then I shall turn to the peoples a clean lip, so that they all call on the Name of ืืืื, to serve Him with one accord.”
This prophecy confirms that Yahuah will restore His Nameโbecause it was removed!
4. Suppression of the Name in Early Christian Writings
Eusebius (263โ339 AD), Ecclesiastical History
โข Eusebius, a Roman historian and church leader, documents how Hebrew believers were persecuted for maintaining their traditions.
โข He describes how early followers of Yahusha (ืืืืฉืข) were pressured to conform to Greek and Latin customs.
Epiphanius (310โ403 AD), Panarion
โข Epiphanius wrote about a group called the “Ebionites”โearly Torah-keeping believers in Yahusha.
โข He mocked them for refusing to call the Messiah “Jesus” and instead calling Him by His Hebrew Name.
This shows that early believers resisted the name changeโbut they were eventually overpowered by the Roman Church.
Hosea 4:6 โ “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from serving as My priest. Since you have forgotten the Torah of your Elohim, I also forget your children.”
The loss of Yahuahโs Name has led to widespread deception, just as Scripture foretold.
5. The Introduction of the Letter โJโ Finalized the Suppression
The name “Jesus” did not exist until the 1600s!
โข The letter “J” did not exist in Greek, Hebrew, or Latin until the 16th century.
โข Before that, the Messiahโs name was written as Iesus (Latin) or Iฤsous (Greek).
โข The first English Bible to use “Jesus” was the 1611 King James Version.
Proverbs 30:4 โ “What is His Name, and what is His Sonโs Name, if you know it?”
Why was His Name changed so many times if it was truly given by Yahuah?
6. Restoring the Hebrew Names in the Last Days
Revelation 14:1 โ “And I looked and saw a Lamb standing on Mount Tsiyon, and with Him one hundred and forty-four thousand, having His Fatherโs Name written upon their foreheads.”
Malachi 3:16 โ “Then shall those who fear ืืืื speak to one another, and ืืืื listen and hear, and a book of remembrance be written before Him, of those who fear ืืืื, and those who think upon His Name.”
Acts 2:21 โ “And it shall be that everyone who calls on the Name of ืืืื shall be saved.”
Prophecy foretells that Yahuah will restore His Name to His people!
If His Name is written on the foreheads of the righteous, shouldnโt we use it now?
