Unveiling the Greatest Deception Part I Restoring the True Name of Yahusha (יהושע): The Lost Identity of Our Messiah
For centuries, believers have unknowingly embraced a false name—one that was never spoken by the Messiah, never given by Yahuah, and never written in the original Scriptures. The name “Jesus” is a Greek-Latin hybrid, a name that carries no connection to Hebrew, no prophetic meaning, and no authority in the Name of the Father. Yet, it has been universally accepted as the name of salvation.
But what if everything you thought you knew about the Messiah’s Name was based on a lie?
What if His true, original, and divinely-given Name—Yahusha (יהושע)—has been hidden, erased, and replaced by religious and political forces who sought to sever the faith from its Hebrew foundation?

Let’s begin this eye-opening study together.
Introduction: Restoring the True Name
One of the greatest deceptions in history has been the alteration, erasure, and replacement of the true Name of the Messiah. While the world widely recognizes the name “Jesus,” historical, linguistic, and scriptural evidence proves that this was not the original name given to the Messiah by Yahuah (יהוה). Instead, His true Name is Yahusha (יהושע), which means “Yahuah is Salvation.”
Through deliberate linguistic corruption, theological deception, and historical manipulation, the true Hebrew name of Yahusha was replaced through Greek, Latin, and English transliterations, severing its connection to the Name of the Father, Yahuah (יהוה). This document will prove beyond doubt:
Yahusha (יהושע) is the original and correct Name of the Messiah.
The name “Jesus” is a mistranslation with no connection to Hebrew meaning.
Scripture commands us to call on the true Name for salvation.
The removal of Yahuah’s Name from Yahusha’s Name was a deceptive move.
The pagan influence behind the name “Jesus.”
The linguistic shift from Paleo-Hebrew to modern languages altered the divine meaning.
The false claim that “Jesus” means “Hail Zeus” and other misleading theories.
How Constantine and the Roman Catholic Church played a role in the deception.
Historical references proving the suppression of the Hebrew Names.
The theological importance of using the correct Name in prayer and worship.
I. Yahusha (יהושע): The True Name of the Messiah in Paleo-Hebrew
The true name of the Messiah is Yahusha (יהושע), not “Jesus.” This ancient Hebrew name carries deep meaning, linking directly to Yahuah (יהוה), the Creator, and explicitly declaring salvation. Understanding Yahusha’s true name requires a careful linguistic, scriptural, and historical analysis to see how it was preserved, altered, and later replaced in the languages of the nations.
1. The Meaning of the Name Yahusha (יהושע)
Matthew 1:21 – “She shall give birth to a Son, and you shall call His Name יהושע (Yahusha), for He shall save His people from their sins.”
The Hebrew name Yahusha (יהושע) is a compound of two Hebrew words:
• יהו (Yahu) – A shortened form of יהוה (Yahuah), the Name of the Creator.
• שׁוּעַ (Shua) – Meaning “salvation” or “deliverance.”
Thus, Yahusha (יהושע) literally means “Yahuah Saves!” His name directly proclaims the redemptive power of Yahuah, which is the very purpose of the Messiah!
John 5:43 – “I have come in My Father’s Name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, him you will receive.”
This verse reveals the importance of Yahusha’s Name containing the Father’s Name (Yahuah). The name “Jesus” removes this crucial connection!
2. Paleo-Hebrew Origins of the Name Yahusha (יהושע) Exodus 3:15 – “This is My Name forever, and this is My remembrance to all generations.”
The Paleo-Hebrew script was the original writing system of the Hebrews before it evolved into later Aramaic and Babylonian-influenced square scripts. In Paleo-Hebrew, Yahusha’s name is written as:
𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏
Each letter carries a pictographic meaning:
• 𐤉 (Yod) – “Hand” or “Arm” (Work, Deed, Power)
• 𐤄 (Hey) – “Behold” or “Revealed”
• 𐤅 (Waw) – “Nail” or “Hook”
• 𐤔 (Shin) – “Teeth” or “Destroy”
• 𐤏 (Ayin) – “Eye” or “Watch”
Pictographic Meaning: Yahusha’s Name in Paleo-Hebrew can be interpreted as:
“The Hand of Yahuah is Revealed, Nailed to Destroy Sin and Watch Over His People.”
This aligns perfectly with Yahusha’s mission of salvation!
Zephaniah 3:9 – “For then I shall turn to the peoples a clean lip, so that they all call on the Name of יהוה, to serve Him with one accord.”
Prophetically, Yahuah is restoring His true Name to His people, including the name of His Son, Yahusha.
3. Yahusha (יהושע) vs. Other Hebrew Names
Yahusha’s name is often confused with other Hebrew names. However, it is distinct:
יהושע (Yahusha) – This is the full name of the Messiah, meaning “Yahuah is Salvation.”
ישוע (Yeshua) – This is a shortened Aramaic-derived form of Yahusha, meaning simply “Salvation.” While it appears in later texts, it does not carry the full divine connection to Yahuah’s Name.
יהושע (Yahusha) vs. יְהוֹשֻׁעַ (Yehoshua) – Both names mean “Yahuah Saves,” but “Yahusha” is used prophetically and in direct reference to the Messiah.
Nehemiah 8:17 – “And all the assembly of those who had come back from the captivity made booths and sat under the booths. For since the days of Yahusha (יהושע) son of Nun until that day, the children of Yisra’el had not done so.”
Even in the Old Testament (Tanakh), the name Yahusha was used in prophetic connection to salvation!
4. Yahusha’s Name in Prophetic Fulfillment
Proverbs 30:4 – “Who has gone up to the heavens and come down? Who has gathered the wind in His fists? … What is His Name, and what is His Son’s Name, if you know it?”
The Messiah’s Name was known and revealed from the beginning! The expectation of salvation was always linked to Yahusha’s name.
Psalm 91:14 – “Because he cleaves to Me in love, therefore I deliver him; I set him on high, because he has known My Name.”
Zechariah 14:9 – “And Yahuah shall be Sovereign over all the earth. In that day there shall be one יהוה (Yahuah), and His Name one.”
Acts 4:12 – “And there is no deliverance in anyone else, for there is no other Name under the heaven given among men by which we need to be saved.”
Only Yahusha’s Name carries the power of Yahuah’s Salvation!
5. The Suppression of the Name Yahusha (יהושע)
Jeremiah 8:8 – “How do you say, ‘We are wise, and the Torah of יהוה is with us’? But look, the false pen of the scribes has worked falsehood!”
Historically, Yahusha’s true name was removed and replaced due to:
• Greek and Roman Transliteration: The Greek Ἰησοῦς (Iēsous) was used instead of יהושע because Greek has no “Y” sound, no “Sh” sound, and required names to end in “s.”
• Latin Influence: The Latin Iesus further distanced the name from its Hebrew roots.
• Catholic Church Edits: The church adopted the Latinized version and by the 1600s, the English name “Jesus” was fully adopted.
This name change was a deliberate attempt to erase the connection between Yahusha and Yahuah!
Hosea 4:6 – “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from serving as My priest. Since you have forgotten the Torah of your Elohim, I also forget your children.”
6. Restoring the Name Yahusha (יהושע)
Zechariah 3:8-9 – “For look, I am bringing forth My Servant, the Branch. See the stone which I have put before Yahusha (יהושע)! On one stone are seven eyes. See, I am engraving its inscription,” declares Yahuah of Hosts, “and I shall remove the guilt of that land in one day.”
This prophecy directly names Yahusha (יהושע) as the one through whom sins will be removed!
Revelation 14:1 – “And I looked and saw a Lamb standing on Mount Tsiyon, and with Him one hundred and forty-four thousand, having His Father’s Name written upon their foreheads.”
The elect will have Yahuah’s Name! It is time to return to the true Name of the Messiah: Yahusha!
Conclusion
The true Name of the Messiah is Yahusha (יהושע), which means “Yahuah Saves.” His Name carries the Father’s Name (Yahuah) and His mission (salvation). The removal of His name through Greek and Latin distortions was part of a historical deception that must be undone.
The time for truth is now—restore the Name Yahusha (יהושע) in your worship, prayers, and study!
