The Sent One Represents the Sender

Parts 1–3 established the foundation. Yahuah is the one Elohim—the Father. Yahusha is His Son and Messiah and must not be collapsed into the Father. Yet Scripture gives Yahusha extraordinary authority, glory, titles, functions, and representation of the Father.

That creates an important question:

HOW CAN YAHUSHA SPEAK AND ACT WITH THE AUTHORITY OF YAHUAH WHILE STILL BEING DISTINCT FROM THE FATHER WHO SENT HIM?

Much of the confusion disappears when Scripture is read within its own Hebraic world rather than through later Western philosophical categories.

The biblical principle is simple:

THE AUTHORIZED SENT ONE REPRESENTS THE ONE WHO SENT HIM.

Understanding this principle of agency does not answer every question concerning Yahusha. Nor should agency be used as a magic explanation to dismiss passages concerning his unique identity, preexistence, glory, or relationship with the Father.

But agency provides an essential biblical framework for understanding how the Sender can speak and act through His appointed representative without the representative literally becoming the Sender.

THE HEBRAIC WORLD OF THE SENT ONE

The later Jewish concept is commonly associated with the Hebrew שָׁלִיחַ — shaliach, “one who is sent,” an authorized representative or agent.

The underlying biblical principle appears throughout Scripture long before later rabbinic terminology formalized it.

An authorized representative can speak in the sender’s name, carry the sender’s authority, perform the sender’s commission, and even be addressed according to the authority he represents.

But the agent remains distinguishable from the principal who sent him.

That distinction is critical.

REPRESENTATION DOES NOT REQUIRE IDENTITY.

MOSES AS ELOHIM TO PHARAOH

Exodus provides a powerful example.

Yahuah tells Moses:

“See, I have made thee A GOD [ELOHIM] TO PHARAOH: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet” (Exodus 7:1).

Did Moses suddenly become Yahuah?

NO.

Yet Moses stood before Pharaoh carrying Yahuah’s delegated authority.

Earlier, Yahuah told Moses concerning Aaron:

“Thou shalt be to him INSTEAD OF GOD” (Exodus 4:16).

Moses represented Yahuah.

Aaron represented Moses.

Authority moved through an ordered chain of agency.

YAHUAH → MOSES → AARON → PHARAOH.

The representative could speak with the authority of the one who commissioned him without becoming that individual.

This principle becomes enormously important when we reach Yahusha.

THE MESSENGER WHO SPEAKS AS YAHUAH

The Hebrew word מַלְאָךְ — malakh — means messenger.

Sometimes Scripture introduces the “messenger of Yahuah,” yet the narrative subsequently records Yahuah speaking in the first person.

Exodus 3 is a classic example.

Verse 2 says:

“The angel of Yahuah appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush.”

Yet verse 4 says:

“ELOHIM called unto him out of the midst of the bush.”

And the speaker declares:

“I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.”

The narrative can move between the messenger and the One represented because the messenger carries the Sender’s authority and message.

We must not automatically conclude that every messenger speaking in Yahuah’s name literally IS Yahuah Himself.

Biblical agency explains why the representative may speak in the first person for the Sender.

JACOB AND THE MESSENGER

Genesis 31 provides another example.

The messenger of Elohim says to Jacob:

“I am the God of Bethel” (Genesis 31:13).

Again, Western readers often assume there are only two possibilities:

Either the messenger literally is Elohim Himself, or the text contradicts itself.

The Hebraic concept of representation provides another category.

The messenger can speak the words of the Sender AS the Sender because he has been authorized to represent Him.

This occurs repeatedly throughout Scripture.

YAHUAH PUTS HIS NAME UPON HIS MESSENGER

Exodus 23:20–21 is especially important.

Yahuah tells Israel:

“Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way.”

Then:

“Beware of him, and obey his voice… for MY NAME IS IN HIM.”

That is extraordinary language.

Yahuah’s messenger carries Yahuah’s NAME.

In the biblical world, the name represents more than pronunciation. It involves authority, reputation, ownership, character, and delegated jurisdiction.

The messenger therefore acts with Yahuah’s authority because Yahuah has placed His name upon him.

But notice:

“I SEND an Angel.”

Again:

SENDER.

SENT ONE.

Yahuah does not cease being distinguishable from His representative simply because His representative carries His name and authority.

THE PROPHETS SPEAK FOR YAHUAH

The prophets provide another obvious example.

How many times do we read:

“THUS SAITH YAHUAH”?

Then the prophet speaks in the first person:

“I will…”

“I have…”

“My people…”

“My covenant…”

“My anger…”

“My land…”

Nobody concludes that Isaiah literally became Yahuah because Isaiah spoke Yahuah’s words in the first person.

Why?

Because everyone intuitively understands prophetic agency.

Yahuah speaks THROUGH His messenger.

The messenger’s words carry the authority of the Sender because they originate with the Sender.

That is precisely what Yahusha repeatedly says concerning himself.

YAHUSHA IS THE SENT ONE

The Gospel of John is saturated with sending language.

John 5:30:

“I seek not mine own will, but the will of THE FATHER WHICH HATH SENT ME.”

John 6:38:

“I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of HIM THAT SENT ME.”

John 7:16:

“My doctrine is not mine, but HIS THAT SENT ME.”

John 8:42:

“Neither came I of myself, but HE SENT ME.”

John 12:49:

“The Father which SENT ME, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.”

John 17:3:

“Jesus Christ, WHOM THOU HAST SENT.”

This is not incidental vocabulary.

Yahusha’s identity as the SENT ONE is fundamental to John’s presentation of him.

YAHUSHA EXPLAINS AGENCY HIMSELF

John 13:20 is one of the clearest statements:

“He that receiveth WHOMSOEVER I SEND receiveth ME; and he that receiveth ME receiveth HIM THAT SENT ME.”

Look at the chain:

DISCIPLE SENT BY YAHUSHA → RECEIVING HIM MEANS RECEIVING YAHUSHA.

YAHUSHA SENT BY THE FATHER → RECEIVING YAHUSHA MEANS RECEIVING THE FATHER.

Does receiving a disciple mean the disciple literally becomes Yahusha?

NO.

Does receiving Yahusha mean Yahusha literally becomes the Father?

NO.

This is representation.

The sent one carries the authority of the sender.

Yahusha gives his own disciples a measure of the same agency principle.

“HE THAT HATH SEEN ME HATH SEEN THE FATHER”

Now John 14:9 becomes much clearer.

Yahusha tells Philip:

“He that hath seen me hath seen the Father.”

This verse is often ripped from its context and treated as though Yahusha said:

“I AM THE FATHER.”

He did not.

John 14:10:

“The words that I speak unto you I speak NOT OF MYSELF: but THE FATHER THAT DWELLETH IN ME, he doeth the works.”

That is the explanation.

Yahusha perfectly reveals the Father.

He speaks the Father’s words.

He performs the Father’s works.

He represents the Father’s character.

He carries the Father’s authority.

Therefore seeing Yahusha is seeing the Father revealed through His perfect representative.

That does NOT require Father and Son to be the same individual.

THE IMAGE OF THE INVISIBLE ELOHIM

Colossians 1:15 calls Yahusha:

“The IMAGE OF THE INVISIBLE GOD.”

The Greek εἰκών — eikōn — means image, likeness, representation.

An image makes visible what otherwise cannot be seen.

Yahusha uniquely reveals the invisible Father.

Hebrews 1:3 similarly calls him the brightness of Elohim’s glory and the express image of His substance/person.

This is far beyond the agency of an ordinary prophet.

That distinction matters.

Yahusha is not merely ONE MORE AGENT.

HE IS THE UNIQUE SON AND SUPREME REPRESENTATIVE OF THE FATHER.

THE SON SPEAKS WHAT THE FATHER COMMANDS

John 12:49–50 could hardly be clearer:

“I have not spoken of myself; but THE FATHER WHICH SENT ME, HE GAVE ME A COMMANDMENT, what I should say, and what I should speak.”

Yahusha continues:

“Whatsoever I speak therefore, EVEN AS THE FATHER SAID UNTO ME, SO I SPEAK.”

That is perfect agency.

The Sender gives the message.

The Sent One faithfully delivers it.

Therefore rejecting Yahusha’s words means rejecting the Father whose words he carries.

THE SON DOES THE FATHER’S WORKS

John 5:19 says:

“The Son can do NOTHING OF HIMSELF, but what he seeth the Father do.”

John 5:30:

“I can of mine own self DO NOTHING.”

John 14:10:

“The Father that dwelleth in me, HE DOETH THE WORKS.”

This does not describe an independent rival deity.

Nor does it describe the Father merely pretending to be His own Son.

It describes perfect dependence and representation.

Yahusha acts in complete harmony with the One who sent him.

THE FATHER GIVES YAHUSHA AUTHORITY

Agency requires authorization.

Yahusha does not claim independent authority.

Matthew 28:18:

“ALL POWER IS GIVEN UNTO ME in heaven and in earth.”

John 5:22:

“The Father… hath COMMITTED ALL JUDGMENT UNTO THE SON.”

John 5:26:

“He hath GIVEN TO THE SON to have life in himself.”

John 5:27:

“And hath GIVEN HIM AUTHORITY to execute judgment also.”

Daniel 7:14:

“There was GIVEN HIM dominion, and glory, and a kingdom.”

The Father gives.

The Son receives.

The Son then exercises that authority so completely that rejecting the Son means rejecting the Father.

HONORING THE AGENT HONORS THE SENDER

John 5:23 says:

“That all men should HONOUR THE SON, EVEN AS THEY HONOUR THE FATHER.”

Then Yahusha explains:

“He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not THE FATHER WHICH HATH SENT HIM.”

Notice the reason.

The Son represents the Father who sent him.

Dishonoring the Father’s appointed representative dishonors the Father Himself.

This is why Yahusha can receive extraordinary honor without being collapsed into the Father.

YAHUSHA BEARS THE FATHER’S NAME

John 5:43:

“I am come IN MY FATHER’S NAME.”

John 17:11 speaks of the Father’s name being given to or manifested through the Son according to the textual tradition and translation.

John 17:6:

“I have MANIFESTED THY NAME unto the men which thou gavest me.”

The pattern resembles Exodus 23:

“My name is in him.”

The authorized representative carries the Sender’s name and authority.

But Yahusha carries that authority at a level no ordinary messenger ever possessed.

YAHUSHA SENDS HIS OWN DISCIPLES

Here the agency pattern becomes unmistakable.

John 20:21:

“As MY FATHER HATH SENT ME, EVEN SO SEND I YOU.”

That sentence is enormously important.

FATHER → YAHUSHA.

YAHUSHA → DISCIPLES.

The disciples become authorized representatives of Yahusha.

But they do not become Yahusha.

Likewise, Yahusha represents the Father without becoming the Father.

Again:

REPRESENTATION DOES NOT REQUIRE IDENTITY.

“WHOEVER RECEIVES YOU RECEIVES ME”

Matthew 10:40:

“He that receiveth YOU receiveth ME, and he that receiveth ME receiveth HIM THAT SENT ME.”

There it is again.

Receiving the disciple = receiving Yahusha.

Receiving Yahusha = receiving the Father.

If identity were required, this would create an absurd chain in which every apostle literally becomes Yahusha and Yahusha literally becomes the Father.

Nobody believes that.

The language concerns AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATION.

“WHOEVER SEES ME SEES HIM THAT SENT ME”

John 12:45 says:

“He that seeth me seeth HIM THAT SENT ME.”

Again, Yahusha does not say:

“I am the One who sent me.”

That would contradict the sentence itself.

Someone SENT Yahusha.

Yet seeing Yahusha means seeing the Sender represented.

That is precisely the principle of agency.

AGENCY DOES NOT EXPLAIN EVERYTHING ABOUT YAHUSHA

This safeguard is essential.

Some anti-Trinitarian arguments discover agency and then attempt to explain EVERYTHING about Yahusha merely through ordinary delegated representation.

That goes too far.

No ordinary prophet is described exactly as Yahusha is.

Yahusha speaks of glory with the Father before the world existed.

Creation is said to have come through him.

He is the Word made flesh.

He is the unique Son.

He is the image of the invisible Elohim.

He receives universal dominion.

Every knee will bow.

He judges the world.

He receives extraordinary heavenly honor.

He is the Lamb at the throne.

AGENCY HELPS EXPLAIN HIS REPRESENTATION OF THE FATHER.

It does NOT give us permission to diminish everything else Scripture says about him.

NOR DOES AGENCY PROVE THE TRINITY

The opposite mistake must also be rejected.

When Yahusha speaks Yahuah’s words, performs Yahuah’s works, carries Yahuah’s authority, bears Yahuah’s name, and perfectly reveals Yahuah, those facts do not automatically establish the later philosophical proposition that Father and Son are co-equal persons within one indivisible divine essence.

That conclusion must itself be demonstrated.

Agency provides a biblical category explaining how a distinct representative can act with the Sender’s authority.

Therefore we cannot leap from:

“Yahusha speaks for Yahuah”

to:

“Therefore Yahusha must be the same Elohim who sent him.”

The conclusion does not automatically follow.

THE WATCHMAN’S WARNING

Western theology frequently reads identity where the Hebrew world understands representation.

That mistake produces enormous doctrinal consequences.

The question must always be:

IS THE TEXT DECLARING IDENTITY?

OR IS IT DESCRIBING AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATION?

We cannot decide beforehand.

Context must determine it.

When Yahusha says:

“The Father sent me,”

BELIEVE HIM.

When he says:

“My doctrine is not mine,”

BELIEVE HIM.

When he says:

“The Father gave me commandment,”

BELIEVE HIM.

When he says:

“The Father dwelling in me does the works,”

BELIEVE HIM.

When he says:

“Whoever receives me receives Him who sent me,”

BELIEVE HIM.

And when Scripture gives Yahusha authority, glory, honor, preexistence, and functions beyond every ordinary messenger:

BELIEVE THAT TOO.

LET ALL THE WITNESSES SPEAK.

THE FOUNDATION OF PART 4

The biblical pattern is unmistakable:

THE SENDER COMMISSIONS.

THE SENT ONE REPRESENTS.

THE SENDER GIVES AUTHORITY.

THE SENT ONE EXERCISES THAT AUTHORITY.

THE SENDER GIVES THE WORD.

THE SENT ONE SPEAKS THAT WORD.

THE SENDER PLACES HIS NAME UPON HIS REPRESENTATIVE.

THE REPRESENTATIVE ACTS IN THAT NAME.

RECEIVING THE SENT ONE MEANS RECEIVING THE SENDER.

REJECTING THE SENT ONE MEANS REJECTING THE SENDER.

But:

THE SENT ONE DOES NOT THEREFORE BECOME THE SENDER.

Yahusha himself gives us the pattern:

“As MY FATHER hath sent ME, even so SEND I YOU.”

Father → Son → disciples.

Distinct persons.

Ordered authority.

Perfect representation.

And in Yahusha we encounter the supreme expression of this biblical principle:

THE UNIQUE SON PERFECTLY REVEALS THE FATHER.

HE SPEAKS THE FATHER’S WORDS.

HE PERFORMS THE FATHER’S WORKS.

HE CARRIES THE FATHER’S NAME.

HE EXERCISES THE FATHER’S GIVEN AUTHORITY.

HE REVEALS THE FATHER’S CHARACTER.

HE IS THE IMAGE OF THE INVISIBLE ELOHIM.

Therefore Yahusha can truthfully say:

“He that hath seen me hath seen the Father.”

Not because the Father and Son must be collapsed into the same individual.

But because the Son PERFECTLY REVEALS THE ONE WHO SENT HIM.

That brings us directly to another major question.

If Father and Son are distinct, and Yahusha represents the Father, then:

WHO OR WHAT IS THE RUACH HA’QODESH?

We will not begin with a creed.

We will not begin with an anti-Trinitarian reaction.

We will begin with Scripture.
