Walking as Y’shu’ah Walked: Living in Covenant Faithfulness to Yahuah

Y’shu’ah (יהושׁוּע) came not only to save us but to show us how to live in covenant faithfulness to Yahuah (יהוה). His life was a perfect fulfillment of the Torah, demonstrating how we, as His followers, can walk in Yahuah’s ways. From His teachings in the Sermon on the Mount to the events of Pentecost where the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) empowered believers, Y’shu’ah provided a living example of obedience, love, and righteousness. Join us as we explore His mission, our role as sons and daughters of Yahuah, and what it truly means to walk as He walked. 1. Y’shu’ah’s Mission: Teaching Covenant Faithfulness

Y’shu’ah’s mission went beyond atonement; He came to exemplify what it means to live in obedience to Yahuah.

  • John 14:6:

"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."

  • Y’shu’ah is the "way" (halakhah, or walk) in which Yahuah desires His people to live, showing the path to covenant faithfulness.

  • Matthew 5:17-19:

"Do not think that I came to abolish the Torah or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill."

  • Fulfillment does not mean abolishing but bringing the Torah to its full meaning and demonstrating how to live it out in spirit and truth.

  • 1 Peter 2:21:

"Messiah also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in His steps."

  • Y’shu’ah’s life is not only a sacrificial act for our sins but also a model of obedience for us to emulate.

Key Insight: Y’shu’ah embodied the Torah and revealed its heart—love for Yahuah and others (Matthew 22:37-40).

2. Pentecost: Empowerment Through the Ruach HaKodesh

The events of Shavuot (Pentecost) demonstrate how believers are empowered to walk as Y’shu’ah walked.

  • Acts 2:2-6:

"Suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting."

  • The Ruach HaKodesh descended, enabling the disciples to proclaim the Gospel in various languages, symbolizing the restoration of humanity’s unity under Yahuah.

  • Connection to Isaiah 56:7:

    • The "house" may refer to the Temple courts, often called the "house of Elohim." The Spirit’s outpouring fulfills the promise of Yahuah bringing His people together for worship.

Key Insight: Pentecost represents the beginning of believers’ empowerment to live out Yahuah’s covenant through the Spirit.

3. Are We Equal to Y’shu’ah as Sons and Daughters of Yahuah?

While Y’shu’ah is the unique Son of Yahuah, believers are called to be sons and daughters, sharing in His inheritance.

  • Romans 8:14-17:

"For all who are led by the Spirit of Elohim are sons of Elohim... and if children, then heirs—heirs of Elohim and fellow heirs with Messiah."

  • As adopted children, believers share in the blessings of the covenant, though Y’shu’ah’s divinity remains unmatched.

  • 1 John 3:2:

"We shall be like Him, because we shall see Him as He is."

  • Believers will be glorified, transformed into the likeness of Y’shu’ah, though not equal in nature.

Key Insight: Y’shu’ah remains the unique mediator and redeemer, yet believers are brought into the family of Yahuah through Him.

4. Psalm 82:6: "You Are Gods"

This verse often causes confusion but is clarified by its context.

  • Psalm 82:6:

"I said, 'You are gods, sons of the Most High, all of you; nevertheless, like men you shall die.'"

  • The Hebrew word elohim refers to judges or rulers with delegated authority from Yahuah.

  • John 10:34-36:

    • Y’shu’ah references this verse to emphasize His divine authority. If human judges could be called "gods," how much more legitimate is His claim as the one sent by Yahuah?

Key Insight: Psalm 82:6 emphasizes accountability for those in authority and points to Yahuah as the ultimate judge.
