Unveiling the Truth: Debunking the Lunar Sabbath Theory - Blog #4 /16 - The provision of manna

The provision of manna by Elohim/God serves as a compelling argument against the Lunar Sabbath theory. After the Israelites left Egypt, God established the Sabbath pattern by providing manna for six days, with none given on the seventh day, the Sabbath. As stated in Exodus 16:26, “Six days you shall gather it, but on the seventh day, the Sabbath, there will be none.”

Furthermore, on the sixth day, God provided extra manna for the people to store and consume on the Sabbath. Exodus 16:29-30 explains, “See, for the Lord has given you the Sabbath; therefore he gives you on the sixth day bread for two days. Remain each of you in his place; let no one go out of his place on the seventh day.” This consistent seven-day cycle continued for 40 years in the wilderness, deeply ingraining the Sabbath pattern in the minds of the Israelites. As Exodus 16:35 states, “And the people of Israel ate the manna forty years, till they came to a habitable land. They ate the manna till they came to the border of the land of Canaan.”

The Lunar Sabbath theory, however, does not align with this pattern. According to this theory, manna would have been provided on the first and thirtieth days of each month. Yet, there is no biblical indication that extra manna was given at the end of the month to supply for these non-days, nor are these days designated as fasting days. If the Lunar Sabbath were accurate, God would have surely provided instructions for these transition days between each month.

The provision of manna established a continuous, uninterrupted seven-day cycle that leaves no room for confusion when the month starts over, as the Sabbath does not reset each month. This pattern is consistent with the biblical feast days, further discrediting the Lunar Sabbath theory. Therefore, the giving of manna serves as a significant biblical event that disproves the Lunar Sabbath theory and affirms the continuous seven-day Sabbath cycle.
