Unveiling the Truth: Debunking the Lunar Sabbath Theory - Blog #16/16 - Inspired Scriptures - Conclusion

In conclusion, we are faced with a decision: to trust in the divinely inspired Scriptures or to depend on potentially unreliable encyclopedic sources. It’s vital to remember that the 7-day week was not a Roman invention.

From the time Yahushua (Jesus) walked the Earth, the pattern of the 7-day week has remained unaltered. As Yahuah (God) does not mention the Moon re-setting the weeks in the Scriptures, we can confidently dismiss any contrary claims.

The Scriptures offer clear guidance on leading a life pleasing to God. The Bible cautions us against adopting the ways of the heathens or engaging in practices abhorrent to God. Deuteronomy 18:9-16 warns against adopting the abominations of other nations, including practices such as making one’s son or daughter pass through the fire, practicing divination, using magic, interpreting omens, sorcery, conjuring spells, and calling up the dead. These practices are considered abominations to God, and those who engage in them are driven out from before Him. God commands His people to be perfect before Him and not to listen to those who use magic and diviners.

Deuteronomy 13:1-18 provides guidance on how to respond when a prophet or a dreamer of dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder. If the sign or wonder comes true, but the prophet or dreamer of dreams says, ‘Let us go after other gods – which you have not known – and serve them,’ or to worship his in ways he did not establish, do not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams. God is testing you to know whether you love Him with all your heart and with all your soul. You must walk after the Lord your God and fear Him, and keep His commandments and obey His voice, and you shall serve Him and hold fast to Him.

Those wishing to observe the biblical Sabbath need to be aware of this dangerous pagan deception infiltrating religious practices. The lunar Sabbath is not biblical. If you’ve been observing a lunar Sabbath, it may be time to reconsider this practice and repent if it aligns more with paganism than with biblical teachings.

Lunar Sabbatarians may go to great lengths to confuse the issue and distort the texts. They may attempt to make you question the clear, simple instructions provided in the Scriptures. They may resort to bullying and intimidation if you do not agree with their opinions, interpretations, or speculative suppositions. Those who teach the lunar doctrine are spreading false teachings and deception. They prey on those who are unlearned, lack a solid foundation in Torah, are weak in their faith, or are easily swayed by every new doctrine that comes along.

The Sabbath, as a day of rest and worship, is clearly a sign of the covenant between God and His people, and a blessing given by God for the benefit of mankind. The significance of the Sabbath in biblical teachings is of enduring relevance today. It’s always important to discern the origins and implications of religious practices to ensure they align with one’s faith commitments.

In the book of Jeremiah, we find several verses that call for God’s people to flee from Babylon, symbolizing any system or way of life that is opposed to God. Jeremiah 51:6 calls for the people to flee from Babylon to avoid the impending punishment. Jeremiah 51:9 expresses an attempt to heal Babylon, but it could not be healed, and the people are advised to forsake Babylon and return to their own countries. Jeremiah 51:45 is a call for the people to come out of Babylon and save themselves from the fierce anger of the Lord. Jeremiah 50:8 advises the people to be like he-goats before the flocks, leading the way in the escape from Babylon. Jeremiah 50:13 prophesies that because of the Lord’s anger, Babylon will not be inhabited but will be completely desolate. Jeremiah 50:28 describes the voice of those who flee and escape from Babylon, declaring in Zion the vengeance of the Lord our God, the vengeance of His temple. These verses collectively highlight the divine judgment and underscore the importance of separating oneself from practices and systems that are contrary to God’s will.

In Revelation 18:5, it is revealed that the sins of Babylon have piled up to heaven and God has remembered her crimes, signifying the divine judgment that is about to fall on Babylon for her sins. To repent for practicing paganism, Revelation 18:4 calls for God’s people to come out of Babylon, lest they share in her sins and receive her plagues.
