Introduction

The claim that Yahusha (Jesus) broke the Sabbath or violated the Ten Commandments is not just misguided—it is a dangerous, slanderous distortion that attacks the very foundation of the Besorah (Gospel). If Yahusha broke even one Torah commandment, He would have sinned. And if He sinned, He could not be the spotless Lamb. That means no atonement, no resurrection, no salvation, no redemption. Everything collapses if this lie is true. But praise Yahu’ah—it is not.

We are witnessing a bold resurgence of ancient false accusations—the same ones spoken by the Pharisees are now repeated by modern deceivers. Religious tradition, dispensational theology, and lawless doctrines of grace are attempting to paint Yahusha as either a Torah-abolisher or a selective commandment-breaker.

But Scripture is clear. Yahusha did not break the Sabbath. Yahusha did not blaspheme. Yahusha did not violate any of the Ten Commandments. He fulfilled, upheld, and magnified the Torah—showing its true meaning and calling His followers to do the same.

This is not a secondary issue. This is a dividing line between the true Messiah and the counterfeit one offered by Christianity’s lawless traditions. The remnant must rise in boldness, defend the honor of the Torah-keeping Messiah, and expose every doctrine that paints Him as anything less than sinless.

Section 1: The Accusation — John 5:18 Misunderstood

“For this reason the Yahudim sought all the more to kill Him, because He not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that Elohim was His Father, making Himself equal with Elohim.” — Yoḥanan (John) 5:18

Hebrew & Greek Roots
• Shabbat (שַׁבָּת) — Cease, rest, covenant sign.
• Parabainō (παραβαίνω, Greek) — To transgress, violate, break.

Paleo-Hebrew Word Picture
• Shin (𐤔) = consume
• Bet (𐤁) = house
• Tav (𐤕) = covenant
→ “The covenant that protects the house through ceasing.” The Sabbath is a sign of the covenant rest.

Teaching
This verse does not teach that Yahusha actually broke the Sabbath. It records the accusation of the Yahudim (Jews), who were steeped in Talmudic tradition. They interpreted His healing and command to carry a mat as violations—but those were man-made laws, not Torah commands. Yahusha dismantled their oral laws that twisted the meaning of Sabbath.

Prophetic Insights
• Religious tradition accuses the innocent when it is threatened by truth.
• The same accusation used to justify His execution is now repeated in theology—this must be rebuked.

Torah & Prophets Connection
Yeshayahu (Isaiah) 58:13–14 reveals the true delight of the Sabbath. Yahusha restored this delight by healing and freeing on Shabbat—not violating, but fulfilling its purpose.

Section 2: Sin Is Transgression of Torah — Yahusha Did Not Sin

“Who committed no sin, nor was deceit found in His mouth.” — 1 Kepha (Peter) 2:22
“Everyone doing sin also does lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.” — 1 Yoḥanan (John) 3:4

Hebrew & Greek Roots
• Torah (תּוֹרָה) — Instruction, covenant direction.
• Anomia (ἀνομία, Greek) — Lawlessness, Torah-breaking.

Paleo-Hebrew Word Picture
• Tav (𐤕) = covenant
• Vav (𐤅) = nail
• Resh (𐤓) = head
• Hey (𐤄) = behold
→ “Behold the nailed Head of the covenant.” Yahusha is the visible fulfillment of Torah obedience.

Teaching
If Yahusha had broken the Torah, He would have sinned. Scripture declares emphatically that He was sinless. Therefore, He could not have broken even one command. The Pharisees’ accusations were false then—and they are false now.

Prophetic Insights
• The Lamb must be without blemish—Torah-keeping in every aspect.
• Denying Yahusha’s Torah obedience denies His qualification as the Redeemer.

Torah & Prophets Connection
Shemoth (Exodus) 12:5 requires the Passover lamb to be “perfect, without blemish.” Yahusha’s sinless life was the fulfillment of this standard (1 Corinthians 5:7).

Section 3: Sabbath Healing Is Lawful — Mercy and Restoration

“It is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.” — Mattithyahu (Matthew) 12:12

Hebrew & Greek Roots
• Chesed (חֶסֶד) — Mercy, lovingkindness.
• Therapeuō (θεραπεύω, Greek) — To heal, restore, care for.

Paleo-Hebrew Word Picture
• Chet (𐤇) = fence, protection
• Samekh (𐤎) = support
• Dalet (𐤃) = door
→ “The door of protection and support.” Mercy opens the way to restoration.

Teaching
Yahusha healed on the Sabbath to restore what had been broken. This was never forbidden in Torah. It was the added rabbinic traditions—called “takanot”—that prohibited such acts. Yahusha exposed these human rules and reestablished the true Torah standard of compassion and covenant purpose.

Prophetic Insights
• Yahusha’s Sabbath actions were not lawbreaking—they were Torah fulfilling.
• The Sabbath was made for man—for his healing, not his burden.

Torah & Prophets Connection
Yeḥezqĕl (Ezekiel) 34 rebukes the shepherds of Yisra’ĕl for not healing the sick. Yahusha, the Good Shepherd, fulfills this perfectly—even on the Sabbath.

Section 4: Born Under Torah — Perfectly Obedient

“When the fullness of the time had come, Elohim sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under Torah.” — Galatiyim (Galatians) 4:4

Hebrew & Greek Roots
• Yalad (יָלַד) — To give birth, to bring forth.
• Hupo nomon (ὑπὸ νόμον, Greek) — Under law, subject to Torah.

Paleo-Hebrew Word Picture
• Yod (𐤉) = hand
• Lamed (𐤋) = authority
• Dalet (𐤃) = door
→ “The hand of authority opens the door.” Yahusha’s birth under Torah opens the way of redemption.

Teaching
Yahusha was not above Torah—He was born under it. He lived in total submission to the written commands of Yahu’ah. He was not exempt, elevated, or separate from obedience. He is our example, not our excuse.

Prophetic Insights
• You cannot follow a Torah-less Messiah and expect covenant blessings.
• Yahusha’s authority came from His obedience, not in spite of it.

Torah & Prophets Connection
Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 18:18–22 defines a true prophet—he must speak only Yahu’ah’s words. Yahusha did just that—He was the living Torah.

Section 5: The Real Commandment Breakers — The Accusers

“You have made the commandment of Elohim of no effect by your tradition.” — Mattithyahu (Matthew) 15:6

Hebrew & Greek Roots
• Pesha (פֶּשַׁע) — Transgression, rebellion.
• Paradosis (παράδοσις, Greek) — Tradition passed down, man-made rules.

Paleo-Hebrew Word Picture
• Pe (𐤐) = mouth
• Shin (𐤔) = devour
• Ayin (𐤏) = eye
→ “The devouring mouth sees what it wants.” False teachers twist what they see to fit tradition.

Teaching
The Pharisees added hundreds of rules to the Torah, elevating their tradition above Yahu’ah’s command. They bore false witness against Yahusha, judged unrighteously, and delivered Him to death—breaking multiple commandments themselves.

Prophetic Insights
• The religious elite have always been the biggest violators of the Word.
• What they accused Yahusha of, they themselves were guilty of.

Torah & Prophets Connection
Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 6:19 — “Behold, I will bring evil upon this people… because they have not listened to My words, and have rejected My Torah.”

Prophetic Application

The time has come to draw the line. The remnant cannot tolerate lies about Yahusha (Jesus). If we claim He broke the Sabbath or the Ten Commandments, we are siding with His accusers. That is not discernment—that is blasphemy.

We must restore the honor of our Messiah. He was the Torah-keeping, Sabbath-honoring, sinless Lamb. He did not come to abolish, bend, or bypass the commands of Yahu’ah. He came to fulfill them by living them perfectly—and calling His disciples to do the same.

You are either following the real Yahusha or a lawless imitation. There is no middle ground.

Let’s address the claim that Yahusha (Jesus) broke two of the Ten Commandments while still being considered sinless, particularly in light of John 5:18.

  1. Did Yahusha Break the Ten Commandments?

The claim is usually based on John 5:18, which states:

“For this cause therefore the Yahudim sought the more to kill him, because he not only broke the Sabbath, but also called Elohim his own Father, making himself equal with Elohim.” – John 5:18 (ASV)

At first glance, it appears that Yahusha broke the Sabbath and blasphemed by calling Elohim His Father. However, we must examine the context and Torah to see if He truly violated Yahu’ah’s commandments.

  1. Did Yahusha Break the Sabbath?

📖 Torah Definition of the Sabbath Commandment:

“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it set-apart. Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work; but the seventh day is a Sabbath unto Yahu’ah thy Elohim: in it thou shalt not do any work…” – Exodus 20:8-10

The Torah defines “work” as labor related to one’s occupation (Exodus 31:15). However, acts of mercy, healing, and good deeds were never forbidden.

🔹 John 5:1-16 – Yahusha Healed a Man on the Sabbath

  • Yahusha healed a man who had been disabled for 38 years.
  • The Pharisees accused Yahusha of breaking the Sabbath because He told the man to carry his mat (John 5:8-10).
  • This was not a violation of Torah but of man-made rabbinic traditions (Talmudic laws).

✅ Yahusha did NOT break the Sabbath—He only rejected the Pharisaic additions that were not part of Yahu’ah’s commandments.

“It is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.” – Matthew 12:12

💡 Yahusha kept the true intent of the Sabbath—rest and healing—not burdensome traditions.

  1. Did Yahusha Blaspheme by Calling Elohim His Father?

📖 The First Commandment:

“I am Yahu’ah your Elohim… You shall have no other gods before Me.” – Exodus 20:2-3

The Yahudim (Pharisees and religious leaders) accused Yahusha of blasphemy because He called Elohim His Father (John 5:18). But was this truly a violation of Torah?

🔹 Biblical Context of “Son of Elohim”

  • In Hebrew thought, being a “Son of Elohim” meant being appointed by Yahu’ah to do His will.
  • King David was also called “Son of Elohim” (Psalm 2:7).
  • Israel as a nation was called Elohim’s “firstborn son” (Exodus 4:22).
  • Yahusha never claimed to replace Yahu’ah—He always pointed back to the Father (John 5:30).

✅ Calling Elohim “Father” was NOT blasphemy—it was a true statement. Yahusha walked in perfect obedience to Yahu’ah’s will.

“I can do nothing by myself… I seek not my own will, but the will of the Father who sent me.” – John 5:30

  1. Was Yahusha Sinless?

📖 Sin is Defined as Breaking Torah

“Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the Torah: for sin is the transgression of the Torah.” – 1 John 3:4

🔹 Yahusha Did NOT Break Torah

  • Hebrews 4:15 – “He was tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.”
  • 1 Peter 2:22 – “He committed no sin, neither was deceit found in His mouth.”
  • 2 Corinthians 5:21 – “For our sake, He made Him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of Elohim.”

Since sin is breaking Torah, and Yahusha never sinned, this means He never broke the Torah (including the Ten Commandments). The accusations from the Pharisees were false.

  1. Who Really Broke the Commandments?

Ironically, it was the Pharisees who violated Torah, not Yahusha.

  • They accused Yahusha of breaking the Sabbath while they burdened the people with man-made laws (Mark 7:6-9).
  • They accused Yahusha of blasphemy while they rejected the true Word of Elohim (John 8:42-47).
  • They falsely judged Him, bore false witness, and delivered Him to death—breaking multiple commandments.

💡 The religious leaders were guilty of sin, not Yahusha.

Conclusion: Yahusha Kept the Ten Commandments Perfectly

✅ Yahusha did NOT break the Sabbath—He healed and restored, which is lawful.
✅ Yahusha did NOT blaspheme—He rightfully declared His divine mission.
✅ The Pharisees’ accusations were false—they added man-made laws to the Torah.
✅ Scripture affirms Yahusha was sinless—He fulfilled Torah perfectly.

🚨 Beware of doctrines that accuse Yahusha of breaking Torah! If Yahusha had broken the Torah, He would have sinned and disqualified Himself as the Messiah (Deuteronomy 18:18-22, 1 John 3:5).

👉 Do you follow the real Messiah—the Torah-keeping Yahusha—or the Pharisaic version of Him?

🔹 Study Scripture carefully and ensure your faith aligns with truth, not religious traditions. 🔥
