Unveiling the Greatest Deception, part II.
The Name “Jesus” is a Mistranslation with No Connection to Hebrew Meaning
The name “Jesus” is widely used today, but it is a mistranslation that completely removes the Hebrew origins of the Messiah’s true name, Yahusha (יהושע). The transition from Hebrew to Greek to Latin to English resulted in a name that holds no meaning in Hebrew and disconnects believers from the divine identity of the Messiah.

1. The Evolution of the Name from Hebrew to English
Yahusha’s name was never “Jesus” in the original Hebrew Scriptures. His true name, יהושע (Yahusha), went through multiple linguistic changes due to Greek, Latin, and English transliterations—each time altering the original meaning:
Language Transliteration Changes in Meaning
Paleo-Hebrew יהושע (Yahusha) “Yahuah Saves” (original)
Aramaic-Hebrew ישוע (Yeshua) Shortened form (lacks Yahuah’s full Name)
Greek Ἰησοῦς (Iēsous) Greek alphabet had no “Y” or “Sh” sound; changed pronunciation
Latin Iesus Further alteration; still not Hebrew
English (pre-1600s) Iesus Same as Latin, no “J” yet
English (post-1600s) Jesus Invention of the letter “J”; final break from Hebrew origins
Acts 7:45 & Hebrews 4:8 – “Joshua (Yahusha son of Nun) is also called Iēsous in Greek.”
If “Iēsous” was a pagan name, then Joshua’s name would also be pagan—but we know that’s false!
The transformation from יהושע (Yahusha) to “Jesus” erased both the Name of the Father (Yahuah) and the meaning of salvation!
2. The Letter “J” Did Not Exist in Hebrew or Greek
The letter “J” was not part of any language until the 1600s. Prior to that, the English spelling of the name was Iesus, just as it was in Latin.
1 Corinthians 14:33 – “For Elohim is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all the assemblies of the saints.”
The name “Jesus” did not even exist when the Messiah walked the earth! His disciples never heard or used the name “Jesus”—they called Him Yahusha (יהושע).
If the Messiah’s Name was never “Jesus,” why are people calling on a name that was invented centuries later?
3. The Greek Corruption of the Name Yahusha (יהושע)
When Yahusha’s name was transliterated into Greek, the following major errors occurred:
No “Y” Sound in Greek – Hebrew Yod (י) became the Greek Iota (Ι), turning Yahusha into Iēsous.
No “Sh” Sound in Greek – Hebrew Shin (ש) became the Greek Sigma (Σ), removing the original “Shua” sound.
Masculine Greek Name Ending (-s) – Greek male names required a final “s”, which was added artificially, changing Yahusha into “Iēsous.”
Loss of the Father’s Name (יהו – Yahu) – Yahusha’s name contains יהו (Yahu), the shortened form of Yahuah, but in Greek, this was completely lost.
Thus, “Jesus” (Iēsous) is not the Messiah’s true name—it is a Greek-influenced version that does not hold the same meaning!
Hosea 4:6 – “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from serving as My priest. Since you have forgotten the Torah of your Elohim, I also forget your children.”
The alteration of Yahusha’s Name is part of the deception that has removed people from the truth.
4. The Name “Jesus” Has No Hebrew Meaning
Unlike Yahusha (יהושע), which means “Yahuah Saves,” the name “Jesus” has no meaning in Hebrew. It is a Hellenized (Greek) adaptation that was further altered in Latin and English.
John 17:6 – “I have revealed Your Name to the men whom You gave Me out of the world.”
If Yahusha came to reveal the Father’s Name (Yahuah), why would He have a Greek name that removes that connection?
5. The Suppression of the Name Yahusha (יהושע)
Jeremiah 8:8 – “How do you say, ‘We are wise, and the Torah of יהוה is with us’? But look, the false pen of the scribes has worked falsehood!”
The Roman Catholic Church and Greek scribes deliberately replaced the Hebrew Name of Yahusha to disconnect believers from the Hebrew origins of faith.
• 1st Century – Yahusha’s disciples spread His true Name throughout Israel and surrounding nations.
• 2nd-3rd Century – Greek converts and Roman influence altered the original Hebrew identity.
• 4th Century (Council of Nicaea, 325 AD) – Constantine and the Church merged pagan elements into Christianity and promoted the Greek name “Iēsous” instead of Yahusha.
• 16th-17th Century – The letter “J” was introduced, finalizing the English name “Jesus” that had never been used before.
Zephaniah 3:9 – “For then I shall turn to the peoples a clean lip, so that they all call on the Name of יהוה, to serve Him with one accord.”
This prophecy foretells the restoration of Yahuah’s true Name—including Yahusha!
6. Restoring the True Name: Yahusha (יהושע)
Joel 2:32 – “And it shall be that everyone who calls on the Name of יהוה shall be saved.”
The true Name of the Messiah is Yahusha (יהושע), not Jesus. His name was altered to fit Greek, Latin, and English traditions—but it is time to return to the ancient path.
Revelation 14:1 – “And I looked and saw a Lamb standing on Mount Tsiyon, and with Him one hundred and forty-four thousand, having His Father’s Name written upon their foreheads.”
Acts 4:12 – “And there is no deliverance in anyone else, for there is no other Name under the heaven given among men by which we need to be saved.”
The Name “Jesus” was a later invention—salvation is in the true Name, Yahusha!
Conclusion: The Name “Jesus” is a Corruption of Yahusha
The Messiah’s true Name is Yahusha (יהושע), meaning “Yahuah Saves.”
The name “Jesus” is a Greek-Latin-English transliteration that does not retain the original Hebrew meaning.
The letter “J” did not exist until the 1600s, meaning Yahusha was never called “Jesus” during His time on earth.
The name “Jesus” removes the connection to Yahuah, which was part of the deliberate Roman Church alterations.
Yahusha’s true Hebrew Name was known and spoken by the disciples, early believers, and prophets.
Calling on the true Name is essential for salvation, prayer, and restoration to Yahuah.
Now is the time to restore the true Name, Yahusha (יהושע), and reject the errors of history.
Return to the ancient paths and call upon Yahusha, the only Name given for salvation!
