ORIENTATION: THIS IS NOT RANDOM, AND IT IS NOT MYTH

We are living in a season where the ground itself appears increasingly unstable. Earthquakes are felt across regions. Volcanoes erupt with fire, ash, and smoke. Entire populations are placed on alert. Infrastructure is tested. Communication systems strain. At the same time, the heavens themselves draw attention—some signs easily visible, others only detectable because of technologies that did not exist in prior generations.

The question many are asking is not merely what is happening, but what does it mean.

DISCLAIMER

This teaching does not claim to be exhaustive. The volume of geological, seismic, volcanic, and astronomical data available today is immense and continually expanding, making it impossible to incorporate every dataset, chart, or event into a single presentation. What is presented here is a focused, representative overview intended to demonstrate observable patterns, increased clustering, and heightened global awareness of earthquakes, volcanic activity, and related phenomena in recent years. While long-term historical records show variability in activity rates, current monitoring agencies document a notably high number of active and unresting volcanoes worldwide at any given time, alongside recurring sequences of large-magnitude earthquakes (7.0 and greater) within compressed timeframes. These conditions, combined with modern detection capabilities and global interconnectedness, underscore the seriousness of the present moment and support the Scriptural framework of increasing birth-pains, systemic shaking, and covenantal warning—without claiming to catalog every event or resolve all scientific debate.

Scripture does not permit us to treat creation as a closed, autonomous system operating independently of its Creator. From Genesis to Revelation, the earth and the heavens are presented as responsive, accountable, and subject to the authority of Yahuah. The shaking of the earth and the signs in the heavens are not merely scientific curiosities. They are theological realities with covenant implications.

At the same time, a watchman must never exaggerate or invent evidence to make Scripture “work.” Scripture already stands. Truth does not need embellishment. Therefore, this teaching will do the following—carefully and honestly:

Establish what Scripture actually says about trembling, smoke, fire, shaking, and heavenly signs.

Present verified, documented observations without sensationalism.

Distinguish between what is observable, what is measurable, and what is not proven.

Bring everything back to the covenant demand: repentance, obedience, readiness, and endurance.

1. THE CORE SCRIPTURAL DECLARATION: HE TOUCHES THE MOUNTAINS AND THEY SMOKE

The foundational text for this discussion is direct and unmistakable:

“He looks on the earth, and it trembles; He touches the hills, and they smoke.”

— Psalm 104:32

This verse does not attribute trembling to chance. It establishes causation. When Yahuah acts, creation responds. Trembling and smoke are not metaphors for emotion; they are physical responses to divine authority.

The same language appears again as an appeal for intervention:

“Bow Your heavens, O Yahuah, and come down; Touch the mountains, and they shall smoke.”

— Psalm 144:5

This is not passive description. It is covenant language—calling on Yahuah to act decisively within the created order.

The Torah records this same pattern at Sinai:

“Now Mount Sinai was completely in smoke, because Yahuah descended upon it in fire… and the whole mountain quaked greatly.”

— Exodus 19:18

Fire. Smoke. Shaking.

Not allegory. Not abstraction.

Manifest authority.

The Psalms describe the same response on a broader scale:

“Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of the hills also quaked and were shaken… Smoke went up from His nostrils, and devouring fire from His mouth.”

— Psalm 18:7–8

This is systemic response. The foundations themselves react.

Amos confirms the pattern:

“The Master Yahuah of hosts… He who touches the earth and it melts, and all who dwell there mourn.”

— Amos 9:5

Touch leads to response. Authority leads to reaction. Judgment leads to shaking.

2. SHAKING AS A BIBLICAL SIGN: BIRTH PAINS, WARNING, AND SEPARATION

Yahusha placed earthquakes directly into His teaching about the end of the age:

“There will be earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.”

— Matthew 24:7–8

“Beginning of sorrows” is birth-pain language: repetition, intensification, inevitability, and transition.

Luke records the same warning:

“And there will be great earthquakes in various places… and great signs from heaven.”

— Luke 21:11

Yet Yahusha immediately forbids panic:

“See that you are not troubled.”

— Matthew 24:6

Scripture never calls for fear. It calls for discernment.

Hebrews explains why shaking occurs:

“Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven… that the things which cannot be shaken may remain.”

— Hebrews 12:26–27

Shaking exposes false foundations. It separates what is temporary from what endures.

The Prophets align with this understanding:

“The earth is utterly broken… it reels like a drunkard… for its transgression is heavy upon it.”

— Isaiah 24:19–20

“The earth quakes… for Yahuah roars from Zion.”

— Joel 3:16

Creation does not rebel independently. It reacts under the weight of human rebellion:

“For the creation was subjected to futility… the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now.”

— Romans 8:20–22

The earth is not awakening.

It is groaning.

3. SIGNS IN THE HEAVENS: SOME SEEN BY ALL, SOME REVEALED BY MEANS

Scripture does not limit signs to the earth alone. The heavens also bear witness.

“There will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity.”

— Luke 21:25

Notice the structure: heavenly signs and earthly distress occur together. Scripture never promised that every sign would be equally obvious, equally understood, or equally documented.

Some signs are observable with the naked eye: • Eclipses

• Unusual lunar events

• Comets and meteor activity

• Celestial alignments

These have been seen throughout history.

“The heavens declare the glory of Elohim; the firmament shows His handiwork.”

— Psalm 19:1

At the same time, Scripture does not restrict signs to what unaided human vision can easily perceive. In this generation, many heavenly phenomena are only observable because of the technologies that exist—telescopes, satellites, sensors, and space-based observatories. These tools do not create the signs; they reveal them.

This aligns with what Daniel was told:

“Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.”

— Daniel 12:4

An increase in knowledge does not negate a sign; it brings clarity.

Yet Scripture warns against superstition and fear-driven interpretation:

“Do not learn the way of the nations, and do not be dismayed at the signs of heaven.”

— Jeremiah 10:2

Signs are real. Panic is forbidden. Astrology is rejected. Discernment is required.

Yahusha warned that understanding the signs would not be automatic:

“You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times.”

— Matthew 16:3

Some signs are difficult to verify in real time. Others are only understood in hindsight. Scripture never promised convenience—only witness.

“When you see these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”

— Luke 21:28

4. DOCUMENTED REALITY: ARE EARTHQUAKES AND VOLCANOES EXPONENTIALLY INCREASING?

Truth matters more than rhetoric.

Earthquakes

Long-term global records from authoritative monitoring show that the number of major earthquakes per year has remained relatively stable since modern instrumentation began. What has increased dramatically is detection, reporting, and global awareness.

Scripture never said the proof would be an exponential chart. It said earthquakes would be present, recurrent, and associated with broader instability.

Volcanoes

Likewise, long-term volcanic records show no clear evidence of a global exponential increase in eruptions. Improved monitoring creates the perception of escalation.

This does not weaken the biblical message. It strengthens credibility. The warning stands whether the count rises or stabilizes.

5. THE SUN AND ITS EFFECTS: REAL IMPACT, PROPER LIMITS

Solar activity follows cycles and has recently been stronger than anticipated. This is documented. Solar storms can disrupt satellites, GPS, radio communications, and power grids—systems modern civilization depends upon.

What is not established is a proven causal relationship between solar activity and increased global earthquakes or volcanism. Correlation claims exist, but correlation is not causation.

Scripture does not require speculation. The practical implication is enough: the world’s systems are increasingly vulnerable.

6. THE EARTH “RINGING LIKE A BELL”: A VERIFIED GLOBAL RESPONSE

After extremely large earthquakes, scientists have documented a phenomenon called free oscillation. The entire planet enters measurable vibration modes detectable worldwide. This has been observed after events such as:

• 1960 Chile (M9.5)

• 2004 Sumatra–Andaman (M9.1)

• 2011 Tōhoku, Japan (M9.0)

Because the mathematics resemble a struck bell, scientists say the earth “rang like a bell.” This does not mean sound or consciousness. It means global resonance.

Important clarifications: • The earth is not alive

• The earth is not communicating

• This is not mysticism

It demonstrates that the earth responds as a single system when shaken deeply enough.

Scripture already described this reality:

“The earth shook and trembled; the foundations of the hills also quaked.”

— Psalm 18:7

“Tremble, O earth, at the presence of Yahuah.”

— Psalm 114:7

“He looks on the earth, and it trembles.”

— Psalm 104:32

Modern instruments have observed what Scripture already declared.

7. THE COVENANT CALL: WHAT SHAKING DEMANDS OF US

Shaking is not given for fear or fascination. It is mercy before finality.

The purpose is stated plainly:

“That the things which cannot be shaken may remain.”

— Hebrews 12:27

That demands examination: • Is my obedience real?

• Is my faith anchored in truth or comfort?

• Is my household prepared spiritually and practically?

• Am I walking in covenant faithfulness or lawlessness?

“When you see these things begin to happen… your redemption draws near.”

— Luke 21:28

This is not a call to date-setting.

It is a call to readiness.

CONCLUSION: THE SHAKING IS A SUMMONS

When Yahuah touches the mountains, they smoke.

When He looks on the earth, it trembles.

When heaven and earth are shaken, false security collapses.

The earth groans.

The heavens bear witness.

The warnings increase.

This is not cruelty. It is mercy.

The question is not whether the earth will shake again. Scripture says it will.

The question is whether we will stand when it does.
