SCRIPTURE IS THE FOUNDATION OF FAITH: TÔRÂH, PROPHETS, AND TESTIMONY

I. What Scripture Is — The Living Voice of Yahûah

“Scripture” (Miqrâh, מקרא – that which is read aloud) means the collective, divinely inspired writings through which Yahûah (יהוה) revealed His covenant, His will, and His redemptive design. It is not a record of men seeking the divine; it is Yahûah speaking to humanity by His Rûach ha’Qôdesh (רוח הקדש).

The foundation is the Tanakh (Tôrâh • Nevi’im • Ketuvim — Law, Prophets, Writings), and upon it rest the Apostolic Writings, which confirm and fulfill the revelation already given.

“All Scripture is breathed by Elohîm and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for setting straight, for instruction in righteousness.”
— 2 Timótheos (2 Timothy) 3:16

At the time Sha’ul wrote these words, “Scripture” meant the Tanakh—the Hebrew Scriptures that Yahûsha and the emissaries taught, quoted, and fulfilled.

II. The Tôrâh — The Bedrock of Belief and Covenant

The Tôrâh (תּוֹרָה)—instruction, law, teaching—is the written foundation of faith. It records the creation of the cosmos, the fall of mankind, the covenant with Avraham, and the deliverance of Yisrâ’êl from Mitsrayim.

“And Elohîm spoke all these words, saying, ‘I am Yahûah your Elohîm who brought you out of the land of Mitsrayim.’”
— Shemoth (Exodus) 20:1-2

The Tôrâh is more than commandments; it is Yahûah’s revealed pattern of life—a covenant guide to holiness (qûdesh), justice, and mercy.
It is the constitution of the Kingdom of Heaven, delivered on earth.

Each book contributes to the covenant progression:

  • Bereshith (Genesis) — Origins and Promise.

  • Shemoth (Exodus) — Redemption and Law.

  • Vayiqra (Leviticus) — Sanctification and Priesthood.

  • Bamidbar (Numbers) — Testing and Order.

  • Devariym (Deuteronomy) — Renewal and Inheritance.

Without Tôrâh, no foundation exists. It reveals the character of Yahûah and the framework within which Yahûsha would later redeem the world.

III. The Nevi’im — Prophetic Witness and Covenant Correction

The Nevi’im (נביאים)—Prophets—contain both historical records and direct oracles from Yahûah. They confront rebellion, announce judgment, and proclaim hope of restoration.

“See, the days are coming,” declares Yahûah, “when I shall make a new covenant with the house of Yisrâ’êl and with the house of Yehudah.”
— Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 31:31

Through Yeshayahu (Isaiah) we see the Suffering Servant who bears our sins (Isaiah 53).
Through Yeḥezqel (Ezekiel) we see the promise of a new heart and the indwelling Rûach (Ezekiel 36:26-27).
Through Miḵah (Micah) we see the One whose “goings forth are from of old, from everlasting.” (Micah 5:2)

The Prophets reveal that Yahûah’s word is living, unbroken, and covenantal—each prophecy anchored in Tôrâh and fulfilled in Yahûsha.

IV. The Ketuvim — Writings of Wisdom, Worship, and Witness

The Ketuvim (כתובים) display faith in every human condition—joy, despair, repentance, endurance. They show how relationship with Yahûah is lived day by day.

“Yahûah is my Shepherd; I do not lack.” — Tehillim (Psalm) 23:1
“Trust in Yahûah with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” — Mishlei (Proverbs) 3:5

The Psalms teach us to pray; the Proverbs teach us to walk wisely; Job teaches us to trust amid suffering. Each book is a mirror of the human soul under the covenant of Yahûah.

The Writings remind the remnant that worship is not seasonal emotion but lifelong alignment with Yahûah’s Word.

V. Yahûsha ha’Mashiach — The Living Word Fulfilling Scripture

“Do not think that I came to destroy the Tôrâh or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to complete.”
— Mattithyahu (Matthew) 5:17

Yahûsha ha’Mashiach is the Word (Dabar) made flesh (Yoḥanan John 1:1-14).
He did not replace the Tanakh — He embodied it.
He taught from the Tôrâh, revealed Himself through the Prophets, and quoted the Writings as authority.

Every parable, miracle, and teaching of Yahûsha reflects the foundation of Scripture.
His parable of the wise and foolish builders (Mattithyahu 7:24-27) declares that only those who build their lives on His words — which are the Tôrâh of Yahûah — will stand when the storm comes.

The Son of Yahûah did not abolish law; He revealed its full meaning in love, obedience, and truth.

VI. The Apostolic Writings — Covenant Fulfilled and Extended

The emissaries (Apostles) bore witness that Yahûsha is the promised Mashiach of the Tanakh.
Their letters do not cancel the Tôrâh but interpret it through the lens of Yahûsha’s accomplished work.

“Do we then nullify the Tôrâh through belief? Let it not be! On the contrary, we establish the Tôrâh.”
— Romiyim (Romans) 3:31

“Therefore the Tôrâh has become our trainer to bring us to Mashiach.”
— Galatiyim (Galatians) 3:24

Sha’ul and the apostles affirmed continuity, not cancellation. Faith upholds Tôrâh by writing it on the heart through the Rûach ha’Qôdesh.

They revealed that the same Yahûah who spoke at Sinai spoke again through His Son. The same Spirit that moved the Prophets empowers the ekklesia today.

VII. Scripture as Covenant Foundation for the Remnant

Scripture is not religious literature — it is the constitution of the Kingdom.
It is the record of Yahûah’s oaths, promises, and expectations to His people.
It reveals that obedience is the evidence of faith and that faith without obedience is empty confession.

The Tôrâh establishes truth.
The Prophets confirm it.
The Writings embody it.
The Apostolic Writings proclaim its fulfillment in Yahûsha.

This is the Four-Witness Framework — the complete counsel of Yahûah.
Those who hear and obey it stand on unshakable ground.

“Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
— Tehillim (Psalm) 119:105

VIII. Application for the Set-Apart Ones

To study Scripture is to enter covenant dialogue with Yahûah.
The remnant must return to the foundation — Tôrâh, Prophets, Writings, and Testimony of Yahûsha — to understand prophecy, walk in holiness, and prepare for the coming Kingdom.

The modern world is built on sand — religious traditions, translations, and philosophies that removed the Hebraic root.
The restoration of Scripture in its original context is not academic — it is prophetic. It is the return of truth to the people of Yahûah.
