The Sin of Concealment

“This is My Name forever, and this is My remembrance to all generations.” (Shemoth/Exodus 3:15)

Yahu’ah never commanded His Name to be hidden. On the contrary, He commanded it to be proclaimed, sung, declared, blessed, and remembered forever. Yet men—out of fear, superstition, or deliberate rebellion—began to conceal it. This is the heart of hiding the Name: taking what Yahu’ah intended for all to know and pushing it into secrecy.

When the Name is hidden, the people are cut off from its power, robbed of their inheritance, and left vulnerable to deception. Concealment is not reverence—it is robbery.

The Witness of Torah and Prophets

  • “For I proclaim the Name of Yahu’ah: Ascribe greatness to our Elohim.” (Deuteronomy 32:3)

  • “Sing to Elohim, sing praises to His Name; raise up a highway for Him who rides through the deserts, by His Name Yah, and exult before Him.” (Psalm 68:4)

  • “Therefore My people shall know My Name; in that day, for I am the One who is speaking. See, it is I.” (Isaiah 52:6)

The Torah and prophets are clear—the Name was meant to be heard, proclaimed, and known. To hide it is to oppose the very reason He revealed it.

The Witness of Yahu’sha

Yahu’sha declared: “I have revealed Your Name to the men whom You gave Me out of the world.” (John 17:6)

Messiah’s mission included restoring what was hidden. He made the Father’s Name known to His disciples, guarding them in it (John 17:11–12). By doing this, He was reversing centuries of concealment. Where men had covered the Name, Yahu’sha uncovered it.

The End-Time Unveiling

Revelation describes the beast as blaspheming the Name and deceiving the nations (Revelation 13:6). But it also describes the remnant as bearing the Father’s Name openly on their foreheads (Revelation 14:1). The battle of the last days is between hiding and revealing, between concealment and proclamation. The faithful will not hide His Name—they will exalt it.

Paleo-Hebrew Word Study

Kachad (כָּחַד) — “to hide, conceal, deny.”

  • Paleo-Hebrew: 𐤒𐤇𐤃

  • Qoph (𐤒) = horizon, time, circle of completion

  • Ḥet (𐤇) = fence, boundary, separation

  • Dalet (𐤃) = door, pathway, decision

  • Word picture: At the appointed time, a fence is placed before the door, concealing the way.

  • Insight: To hide His Name (kachad) is to block the doorway to covenant knowledge. Yahu’ah never closes that door—men do, by denying access to His memorial.
