Introduction
One of the most repeated and deeply rooted lies in mainstream Christianity is this: “The Feasts were only for the Jews.” With that simple phrase, millions have been cut off from Yahu’ah’s calendar, detached from covenant identity, and deceived into celebrating man-made traditions instead of prophetic moedim (appointed times).
This lie is not just a doctrinal error—it’s a strategic deception. Because when you replace Pesach (Passover) with Easter, or Sukkot (Tabernacles) with Christmas, you don’t just change dates—you shift authority. You dethrone Yahu’ah’s timing and enthrone religious tradition.
The Feasts of Yahu’ah were never called “Jewish holidays.” The Scriptures call them His moedim, His appointed times, given to all Yisra’ĕl—not just one tribe. They prophesy the redemptive work of Yahusha Ha’Mashiach, past, present, and future. Every single Feast points to Him. Every one is filled with covenant truth.
This is not about legalism. It’s about identity. If you are in Messiah, you are grafted into Yisra’ĕl. And if you are Yisra’ĕl, the Feasts are your inheritance. To reject them is to reject the rhythm of redemption.
Section 1: The Feasts Belong to Yahu’ah, Not to a Tribe
“And Yahu’ah spoke to Mosheh, saying, ‘Speak to the children of Yisra’ĕl, and say to them, “The appointed times of Yahu’ah, which you are to proclaim as set-apart gatherings, My appointed times are these…”’” — Wayyiqra (Leviticus) 23:1–2
Hebrew & Greek Roots
• Moedim (מוֹעֲדִים) — Appointed times, divine appointments, sacred rehearsals.
• Qodesh (קֹדֶשׁ) — Set-apart, holy, distinct from the profane.
Paleo-Hebrew Word Picture
• Mem (𐤌) = water
• Ayin (𐤏) = eye
• Dalet (𐤃) = door
→ “The eye opens the door to flowing revelation.” The Feasts are doorways into understanding Elohim’s plan.
Teaching
The Feasts are not man’s invention. They are not a cultural custom. They are Yahu’ah’s. The Creator of time inserted His appointments into the calendar for His people to remember, observe, and rehearse. The entire nation of Yisra’ĕl—twelve tribes, not just Yahudah (Judah)—was commanded to keep them.
Prophetic Insights
• If the Feasts are Yahu’ah’s, then rejecting them is rejecting Him.
• These moedim are windows into redemption—miss them, and you miss His timeline.
Torah & Prophets Connection
Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 16 shows that every Feast is to be observed by all of Yisra’ĕl—male, female, children, and even the sojourner who joins the household.
Section 2: The Feasts Prophesy the Work of Messiah
“Therefore let us keep the Feast, not with old leaven… but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.” — 1 Corinthians 5:8
Hebrew & Greek Roots
• Pesach (פֶּסַח) — Passover, to pass over in mercy, sparing the obedient.
• Hag (חַג) — Feast, festival, to circle around, a cycle of celebration.
Paleo-Hebrew Word Picture
• Pey (𐤐) = mouth
• Samekh (𐤎) = support
• Chet (𐤇) = fence
→ “The mouth speaks the support of the fence.” The Feasts declare and guard the truth of Messiah.
Teaching
Every Feast points to Yahusha:
- Pesach (Passover): His death
- Matzot (Unleavened Bread): His sinless life and burial
- Bikkurim (First Fruits): His resurrection
- Shavuot (Pentecost): His outpouring of the Ruach
- Yom Teruah (Trumpets): His return
- Yom Kippur (Atonement): His judgment and priestly covering
- Sukkot (Tabernacles): His millennial reign
These are not irrelevant rituals—they are blueprints of the King’s mission. When you reject the Feasts, you reject the testimony of Yahusha embedded in the calendar.
Prophetic Insights
• Yahusha didn’t cancel the Feasts—He fulfilled and confirmed them.
• The world will see the Messiah on man’s holidays. The remnant sees Him on Yahu’ah’s.
Torah & Prophets Connection
Yeshayahu (Isaiah) 66:23 says all flesh will worship Yahu’ah on the new moons and Sabbaths in the coming Kingdom. The Feasts are eternal.
Section 3: The Apostles and Early Assembly Kept the Feasts
“I must by all means keep this coming Feast in Yerushalayim…” — Ma’asei (Acts) 18:21
Hebrew & Greek Roots
• Sunagōgē (συναγωγή, Greek) — Gathering, assembly, meeting during Sabbath and Feast observance.
• Proskartereō (προσκαρτερέω, Greek) — To continue in, to be steadfast in, to adhere to.
Paleo-Hebrew Word Picture
• Samekh (𐤎) = support
• Vav (𐤅) = nail
• Tav (𐤕) = covenant
→ “The nail supports the covenant.” The Feasts uphold and secure covenant identity.
Teaching
The apostles didn’t abandon the Feasts—they honored them. Sha’ul (Paul) continued to observe them decades after Yahusha’s resurrection. The early assembly met on Sabbaths, celebrated Shavuot, and aligned with Yahu’ah’s appointed times. The lie that “they were just for Jews” was invented later by Rome—not taught in the Renewed Covenant.
Prophetic Insights
• The early Ekklēsia was a Torah-keeping, Feast-honoring body.
• Separation from the Feasts is separation from the apostolic pattern.
Torah & Prophets Connection
Zekaryah (Zechariah) 14:16–19 prophesies that all nations will come to Yerushalayim to keep Sukkot in the Messianic reign. If you’re going to do it then—why not now?
Section 4: Replacing the Feasts with Pagan Holidays Is Rebellion
“You shall not worship Yahu’ah your Elohim in that way…” — Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 12:31
Hebrew & Greek Roots
• Avodah (עֲבוֹדָה) — Worship, service, to honor through submission.
• Syncretism — The blending of true worship with pagan practice.
Paleo-Hebrew Word Picture
• Ayin (𐤏) = eye
• Bet (𐤁) = house
• Dalet (𐤃) = door
→ “The eye opens the door of the house.” False worship opens the door to mixture and defilement.
Teaching
The Christian calendar replaced Yahu’ah’s Feasts with pagan-based traditions:
- Easter replaces Pesach
- Christmas replaces Sukkot
- Sunday replaces Sabbath
This is not harmless. It is rebellion. Yahu’ah does not accept worship done in the ways of the nations. You cannot take something profane and make it holy. He commanded us not to learn their ways—not rebrand them with Messiah’s name.
Prophetic Insights
• Replacing Yahu’ah’s Feasts with Rome’s holidays is spiritual adultery.
• Yahu’ah doesn’t bless mixture—He judges it.
Torah & Prophets Connection
Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 10 rebukes the cutting and decorating of trees—a clear rebuke of syncretism and false worship rooted in tradition.
Prophetic Application
You were never called to follow man’s calendar. You were never grafted into the Church—you were grafted into Yisra’ĕl. And Yisra’ĕl has appointments—set-apart times, moedim, marked by covenant and filled with prophetic power.
The Feasts are not burdens—they are blessings. They are not legalism—they are loyalty. They are not just shadows—they are substance in Messiah.
The time of restoration is now. The remnant must turn from pagan substitutes and return to the moedim of Yahu’ah. Not for religion—but for alignment, obedience, and prophetic identity.
Summary
This post dismantles the lie that Yahu’ah’s Feasts are “only for the Jews.” We prove through Torah, Prophets, and Apostolic Writings that the moedim are His set-apart times for all Yisra’ĕl, forever. They prophesy the mission of Yahusha, were honored by the apostles, and will be restored in the Messianic Kingdom. Replacing them with man-made traditions is rebellion. The remnant must return.
