Introduction

What if your worshipโ€”though sincereโ€”was rooted in rebellion? What if the celebration of Messiahโ€™s birth on December 25 was not only a lie but an abomination in the eyes of Yahuah? The traditions of men have built a golden calf in the middle of the religious calendarโ€”and called it holy. Yet neither Torah nor the prophets nor the taught ones of Yahusha ever recognized this day. It is a counterfeit moed rooted in Rome, not in redemption.

December 25 is not a biblical appointed timeโ€”it is a rebranded pagan feast. It was chosen not to honor Yahusha but to merge the worship of the sun with the Name of the Son. The truth is this: it profanes the covenant, mocks the commandments, and leads the masses in false worship disguised as devotion. This is not a matter of preferenceโ€”it is a matter of obedience.

This blog post will uncover the true historical and spiritual roots of December 25 and expose the idolatry of its centerpieceโ€”the decorated tree condemned by the prophet Yirmeyahu. The time for mixture is over. The remnant must choose whom they will serve.

Section 1: The Origins of December 25 โ€” Sun Worship in Disguise

โ€œYou shall not do so to Yahuah your Elohim, for every abomination which Yahuah hates they have done to their mighty ones, for they even burn their sons and daughters in the fire to their mighty ones.โ€ โ€” Deแธ‡arim (Deuteronomy) 12:31

Hebrew & Greek Roots
โ€ข Toสฟeแธ‡ah (ืชึผื•ึนืขึตื‘ึธื”) โ€” โ€œAbomination,โ€ detestable practice, often tied to idolatry and forbidden worship.
โ€ข Mลสฟฤ“d (ืžื•ึนืขึตื“) โ€” โ€œAppointed time,โ€ a sacred, set-apart feast ordained by Yahuah.
โ€ข Eidลlothutos (ฮตแผฐฮดฯ‰ฮปฯŒฮธฯ…ฯ„ฮฟฯ‚) โ€” โ€œOffered to idols,โ€ referencing worship that blends paganism with false piety.

Paleo-Hebrew Word Picture
โ€ข Taw (๐ค•) = covenant
โ€ข Ayin (๐ค) = eye
โ€ข Bet (๐ค) = house
โ€ข Heh (๐ค„) = behold
โ†’ โ€œBehold the covenant in the house through the eye.โ€ But when the eye turns to the nations, the house is defiled.

Teaching
The celebration of December 25 did not originate in devotion to Yahusha but in allegiance to the sun. The Roman feast of Sol Invictus, the unconquered sun, was officially established in 274 CEโ€”coinciding with Saturnalia, a week of lawless debauchery in honor of the god Saturn. In the fourth century, the Roman church hijacked this date and cloaked it in Messianic language to attract pagan converts. This was not restorationโ€”it was mixture.

Torah is explicit: do not worship Yahuah the way the nations worship their mighty ones. You cannot redeem what He has already called abominable. To place His Sonโ€™s Name on a pagan festival is not reverenceโ€”it is blasphemy.

Prophetic Insights
โ€ข You cannot celebrate the birth of the true Light by honoring the day of the sun god.
โ€ข December 25 is not a moedโ€”it is mixture, and Yahuah hates it.

Torah & Prophets Connection
Shemoth 32 is the first recorded religious mixture in Israelโ€™s history. They declared a โ€œfeast to Yahuahโ€ while worshiping the golden calf. Yahuah rejected their offering and brought judgment. December 25 is the golden calf of our generation.

Section 2: The Tree of Tradition โ€” What Yirmeyahu Condemned

โ€œDo not learn the way of the nations… For the customs of the peoples are worthless. For one cuts a tree from the forest, the work of the hands of a craftsman with a cutting tool. They decorate it with silver and gold, they fasten it with nails and hammers so that it does not topple.โ€ โ€” Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 10:2โ€“4

Hebrew & Greek Roots
โ€ข Dereแธต (ื“ึถึผืจึถืšึฐ) โ€” โ€œWay,โ€ manner of life or behavior; conduct rooted in either righteousness or idolatry.
โ€ข Asherah (ืึฒืฉึตืืจึธื”) โ€” Pagan fertility goddess; her symbol was a carved tree or wooden pillar.
โ€ข Eidลlon (ฮตแผดฮดฯ‰ฮปฮฟฮฝ) โ€” โ€œIdol,โ€ object of false worship; symbolic of mixture and rebellion.

Paleo-Hebrew Word Picture
โ€ข Ayin (๐ค) = eye
โ€ข Shin (๐ค”) = consume
โ€ข Resh (๐ค“) = head
โ€ข Heh (๐ค„) = behold
โ†’ โ€œBehold the head consumed by what it sees.โ€ A picture of idolatry deceiving the heart through the eye.

Teaching
The decorated tree is not innocent. Yirmeyahu directly rebuked the practice of cutting, carving, decorating, and propping up trees as part of religious customs. These were the Asherah poles of Babylonโ€”symbols of fertility, prosperity, and false worship. Over time, this custom was absorbed into Roman festivals and later absorbed again by Christianity under the banner of โ€œChristmas.โ€

Yet Scripture never changes. What was abominable to Yahuah in the days of the prophets is still abominable today. To bring a decorated tree into your house and call it a symbol of Messiah is to walk in the footsteps of apostasy. The remnant must not defend what the prophets condemned.

Prophetic Insights
โ€ข If Yirmeyahu condemned it, then Yahuah still condemns it.
โ€ข No tradition can redeem an object He calls worthless.

Torah & Prophets Connection
Deแธ‡arim 16:21 commands: โ€œDo not plant for yourself any tree as an Asherah near the altar of Yahuah your Elohim.โ€ Yet many today set up the very same tree in the center of their houseโ€”and worse, in the middle of their sanctuaries.

Prophetic Application

This is not a matter of opinionโ€”it is a matter of covenant. The remnant is not called to blend in with Babylon but to come out and be set-apart. December 25 is not from Yahuah. The decorated tree is not from Yahuah. The worship birthed from these practices is not accepted by Yahuah. Yahusha is calling His Bride to purify herselfโ€”to destroy the idols of mixture and return to the moedim of light. You were not redeemed to honor Romeโ€™s calendar. You were bought with blood to walk in truth.

Blog Summary

This blog post exposed the false origin of December 25, linking it to Roman sun worship, and revealed the decorated tree as a condemned practice rooted in Babylon. These customs are not found in Torah, not commanded by Yahuah, and not honored by Yahusha. The remnant must reject all mixture, abandon the traditions of men, and return to the appointed times of Yahuah in Spirit and truth.
